Inkaterra Constructs the First Canopy Walkway in the Southern Rainforest of Peru

Inkaterra dedicated the most modern Canopy Walkway last week in the southern rainforest of Peru. The walkway is located in their reserve as well as in the private reserve ‘Reserva Amazonica’. It is one hour from Puerto Maldonado on the river Madre de Dios. The first stage of the canopy walkway is 345 meters in length distributed between 7 hanging bridges, 6 circular observation platforms around the trees and 2 vertical towers 35 meters high.  The purpose of the Canopy Walkway is to allow visitors to experience the wonders of the rainforest with minimal environmental impact.

The Canopy walkway allows the visitors to see the flora and fauna in the canopy of the rainforest from the comfort and security of the walkway. Visitors are able to see magnificent orchids, flowers, plants, primates, birds and more up close and to see all of the activity of the canopy while actually in it. The profits from the Canopy Walkway will finance conservation efforts and social development projects in the area.
