Bruning Museum in Lambayeque  to be Renovated

The Bruning Museum in Lambayeque, in northern Peru, will be renovated with a donation from the German Government.  The renovation will take three years and aims to better accommodate tourists as well as preserve the priceless artifacts.

Enrique Bruning, a German engineer, collected the items in the Bruning Museum in the late 19th and early 20th century.

The Peruvian government acquired the collection in 1925.  The museum displays over 1500 priceless pieces from the Vicus, Moche, Lambayeque, Chimu and Inca cultures.  It is famous for its unrivaled collection of Chimu and Vicus textiles and ceramics. The museum also boasts several hundred gold and metal objects including copper funerary masks, ceremonial vases and an exquisite necklace and other jewels from Moche and Chimu provenance. Pieces from the Lambayeque culture are also displayed in the museum.

Inca Trail Best Adventure Travel Location World Wide

The Inca Trail was voted the best adventure travel location world wide according to the World’s 20 best Adventure Holidays in England. Representatives from The Independent and Exodus Travel , specialized in adventure travel, were among those participating in this nomination.  The Inca Trail provides adventure seekers with an unparalleled trek high in the Andes culminating with the breath-taking ruins of Machu Picchu. The Inca Trail travels through small Andean communities and provides the opportunity to observe the traditional lifestyle of the friendly local people.

The Inca Trail is actually a road constructed by the Inca people to transport goods between cities and towns in the Inca Empire.  As a testimony to its excellent construction,  the Inca Trail is still used by the locals to transport goods in and out of their remote villages as well as by adventure seekers.

The trail takes visitors through the mountains above the Urubamba River to Machu Picchu. Along the way, visitors can enjoy the picturesque landscape and breathtaking mountain passes. After a difficult hike through beautiful terrain, the awe-inspiring ruins of Machu Picchu reward adventurers. The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu are a must for travelers to Peru.
